How fun is a four-day weekend?
Mine sure was.
Thursday, as you know, was Bastille Day & a reunion with old friends.
{By the way, don't forget to enter my first-ever Frenchie giveaway!}
Friday FQ & I attended Musilac,
an outdoor music festival in Aix-les-Bains, a town near Annecy.
There were crowds {30,000 people!}, a lot of sun, some beer,
enormous line-ups for the Jiffy Johns & lots of great music, of course.
Saturday we were expected in Pommiers for lunch.
Normally this wouldn't be a problem,
as it only takes an hour-and-a-half to drive there.
However, when you re-live your youth at a music festival
& don`t go to bed until 3:00 a.m.,

it's not that easy to be on the road at a decent time.
Ooof.

Luckily, we spent the rest of the weekend relaxing
& visiting with my belle-famille.
& visiting with my belle-famille.
The guest of honour was my nephew Arthur,
who lives in NYC but is back in France for the summer.
On Saturday, it was warm & sunny, so we hit the pool.
On Sunday, it was miserable & rainy, so we hit the cinema.
The boys went to see Harry Potter
& I took Juliette to see Kung Fu Panda 2.

So, to sum up the four-day weekend:
Friends & fireworks & festivals.
Pool & pandas.
Excellent stuff.

ReplyDeleteThe pictures are fantastic.
That sounds like a fantastic weekend. Minus the staying up till 3. I don't remember the last time I voluntarily did that. Want tiramisu right now.
ReplyDeleteJ'adore Pommiers...
ReplyDeleteLovely photos, as usual!
I've found a Sorrento postcard- hurrah! It's got your name on it.
Talk to you next week.
