Noël 2010: friends

As I said yesterday, Christmas is all about family.
But festivities with friends are fun too.

Every Boxing Day (-ish), FQ gets together with all his old friends.
The guys all went to high school together, but most of them have since left the Lyon area.
They're scattered far & wide:  London, Paris, Berlin, les Alpes (that's us!)

So I think it's really nice that they make an effort to get together
while they're all home over the holidays to visit their families.

Vincent & Mélodie always host the meal.
This year it was lunch at their new house (they'd just moved in a week before!)

It goes without saying that we started with apéritif.

We brought a couple of bottles of crémant (sparkling wine) that were left over from our wedding.
Can you spot our personalized labels?  Love!
Everybody was happy to see each other.
FQ & Mathieu, proving they are just as goofy now as they were 15 years ago.
We ate & drank & caught up on all the news.
The biggest of which was that our hosts with the mosts are expecting their first bébé!
Our hosts, Mélodie & Vincent.  Check out the arm-on-the-champagne-bottle move.  Smoooooth!

So, good friends, good food, good news.
Great way to end the year, non?

  1. Vincent has way more hair than he did last time I saw him! It looks good.

I love holiday gatherings with friends. We should have one next year...
